The Dalles Chronicle
David Gray Anderson died Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the Klickitat Valley Hospital in Goldendale.
He was born Nov. 24, 1951, in Alberta, Canada. He spent his teenage years in the Hood River area, where he grew up on a ranch on Fir Mountain and went to high school in Hood River.
After high school, he joined the Marine Corps, where he was honorably discharged. All his life he loved cars, trucks and railroads, so it made sense that he became a long haul truck driver and an avid model railroader. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting when he got the chance. He also loved animals, especially small dogs, who were his constant companion on the road.
His younger brothers Donald and Dennis survive him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol, his father, Richard, and his brothers Douglas and Daniel.
A memorial service will be Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Goldendale.
It was Dave’s wish that all should know the dangers of smoking, as it was lung cancer that prematurely took his life.
