Prayers and Info Request

This is in from Laura:

"70* classmates, Please pray for Alan Borton, he is back in the hospital (Portland). He's not even able to keep paid medication down. His address is: 724 E 16th ST The Dalles OR 97058. Please let him know you're thinking of him."

He is suffering from cancer.

And Eric Mortenson has requested folks email him for an article he is working on at the Oregonian:

"I wanted to contact and interview a couple classmates for a story I hope to do later this year. Their emails will remain private, and are only for contact purposes. If people want to contact me, that would be great. They should use emortenson@oregonian.com  I'm specifically interested in classmates who attended 6th grade at Barrett School, 1963-64."

April 2013 gathering

Please mark your calendars for Monday, April 15th.  Charburger Country in Hood River is the place at the usual 6pm.

We had a good time visiting tonight, Sue Annala Bryant was a first time visitor.  Great to have you there tonight Sue!!!

There is talk of doing another class wine tasting at Bickford's in the near future.  You won't want to miss that one!

March 2013 Gathering

Next gathering will be Monday, March 4 at 6p at Hood River Charburger.  Everyone is welcome!

We had a good turn out last night and celebrated Gordon & Jerry's birthdays.  New comer, Steve Curtis and is wife came for the first time.  A good visit was had by all!

First 2013 Gathering

First gathering of 2013 will be Monday, January 21 at 6p at HR Charburger.  Please join us for a couple hours of camaraderie.

For those out of town reading this, please let one of us locals know when you're passing through so we can call a spur of the moment gathering.  We'd love to see you, especially if you haven't been able to attend one of the reunions or birthday parties.

Laura Gehrig Miller has posted a request on Facebook for prayers for Alan Borton.  Alan has been battling cancer.

I've requested her to keep us advised as to his status.

I was remiss in not getting photos at the pre-function hosted by Rich Cushman and Steve Bickford, my apologies.  Rich and Steve were very gracious hosts and the wine tasting and appetizers were superb!  Thanks!

Last Chance for the Birthday Party - door prizes needed

It’s the first of August, only 18 days until our birthday party!

Last chance to let us know if you’re coming, need to let the Charburger know very soon.  We need to hear from you by August 8.

Cost per person is $19.70 for a BBQ sandwich meal, non alcoholic beverage and birthday cake.  Beer and wine will be available for purchase.

Checks can be made out to Wy’east Class of 1970 and mailed to Debbie Lyddon Vaday at PO Box 323, Husum, WA 98623 or given to us at the door.

Ruth Daley Beecher is setting up a table for classmates that are in business for themselves to display their products and/or business cards for networking purposes.  You need not be present to participate in this.   Sent us your product or business cards and we’ll display them.   We’d like to use the displayed product as door prizes.

Steve Bickford and Rich Cushman will be hosting a pre-function at their wine production facility at the Bickford home place at 1930 Hwy 35, Hood River at 3 pm, just an informal gathering to extend the visiting (no tasting required). Camille’s Gorge White House is just up the road with Richard’s Viento Wine tasting room there and Steve’s Mt. Hood Winery near by as well for a stop on our way to dinner.

For those that haven’t responded to this either way, we’d still like to confirm current contact info we have for you.
